I take been using remote desktop on my MAC for about 2 years, for a PC based program that I need for work. Within the last few months it has been crashing a lot and even deleted my program a few times recently. Is anyone else having these issues?

I try not to modify from MAC to a PC and then I want to get admission to my files and programs I have access to when I use a PC. I have some issue with RemoteApp and Desktop Connection, I tin download the .rdp file on my MAC but it still just download the file even I take installed the Microsoft Remote Desktop and choosen to apply it when open up the .rdp file. What do I practice wrong? Its on a Windows Server 2012

Even creating .rdp files on my PC and using the MRD app on my Mac to import the file results in no connexion betwixt the two devices. I just cannot fathom why this app refuses to work by manually entering the information or using the import role. If anyone knows what may exist causing the problem I'd appreciate knowing how to go around it.
